Wine On A Rainy Evening
Sommelier Suzanne took me out to a West Village wine bar last night called Turks & Frogs which was the perfect place to be on a rain soaked evening. Thanks Suzanne.
We’re in high summer here in NYC, so it’s hot and humid, however with the downpours I wanted to ensure that I had enough clothing on while still remaining cool enough for the high temps. I’m wearing a Ruehl ribbed tank, Madewell light-weight cardigan in place of a jacket, and Gap 1969 boyfriend jeans cuffed at the ankle. Truthfully, I did end up changing my shoes to my leather high-top sneaks, so that my feet would stay dry, right before I left.
My Dina Sutter rutilated quartz and rose gold necklace with one of my Subversive for Target beaded necklaces. I love that the coloration of both of these necklaces play off of each other.
My old Replay men’s leather belt and my Robert Geller white painted ring.
Cynthia Vincent black leather sandals.
A perfect place for a glass of wine with friends or a romantic evening.

Sunday Brunch
Is there anything better? I think not. Whether you prefer the savory or the sweet, what better way to start a day than a delicious meal with a good friend. We checked out this South American restaurant in my neighborhood called Cucharamama which was unbelievable. I highly recommend.
A skirt is my first choice for a hot and humid day and of course I love mixing color. I’m wearing a turquoise tank from French Connection with a Cynthia Steffe over-dyed grass green dirndl skirt.
My multi-colored bangles that bring all of the colors of the outfit together.
Gap poppy red suede sandals.

My New Website!!!
Check out my new professional website! The layout is still very similar to what I had originally designed before but it’s soooo much better. www.summerrobbins.com.

The website was built by Mark DiLullo who can be reached at mark.dillulo (at) gmail.com. All of the photos were taken by my good friend photographer David Toth who you can check out at www.davidtothphotographer.com.
A Great Week
This week I’ve been surprised, honored, and grateful to be featured on some amazing blogs written by three incredibly talented women. Monica Mingo from Rantings of a Creole Princess, Joanna Goddard from Smitten on Glamour.com, and Anne Pachan from Cala Ossidiana. Thanks Ladies. You have made my week. XOXO
Today I’m wearing a vintage over-dyed top knotted over a Madewell white ribbed tank and a pair of J.Brand blue mini-striped denim shorts. I know you’ve heard me rant and rave about how amazing Madewell tanks are, but I won’t spare you from raving again. It’s all about their proportion. They have more of a scooped out neckline, a slimmer strap and a more narrow ribbed fabric that makes all the difference. Do yourself a favor and buy yourself a few. They’re great summertime basics.
My lovely Forever 21 white beaded necklace. I have to restrain myself from wearing this every day.
Silver mirror patent Sigerson Morrison sandals.
I couldn’t resist photographing my friend Anemarie today. I loved her casual cool look. She’s wearing a tailored black cotton top with a ruffled neckline under a super cute chambray denim vest with a pair of straight leg white jeans.
Anemarie’s diamond “A” delicate necklace.
Her evil eye bracelet with her gorgeous super feminine wrist tattoo.
Her cute metallic Birkenstocks.

Going Out For Breakfast Before Work…
… is a wonderful thing to do. Although, we very rarely do it, the other day was the exception. My boyfriend and I woke up early and had our breakfast at a cute restaurant before we both headed off for our busy days.
I wore my vintage tailored taffeta slip dress with my favorite red scarf from the Philippines.
The color navy is one of my favorite rich neutrals. I love the way navy looks with color. I wore some turquoise beaded bracelets to play off the red and pink of the scarf.
My simple turquoise bead earrings.
My beloved brown leather Pierre Hardy for Gap sandals.

Beach For The Day
I love the ocean, but I’m not much of a beach person. Maybe I should clarify… I’m not much of a crowded beach person. I like it when there’s only a few people around, so going late in the day is my preference. The sun is low in the sky, the sand has cooled, and the beach is clear. Yesterday was my day off so I met some friends down at the beach and spent a few hours playing frisbee, wading, watching surfers, and having some girl time.
It also gave me the opportunity to wear my new Cala Ossidiana swimsuit. I know you’ve noticed that one pieces are experiencing a comeback right now, which personally, I think is long overdue. Do you remember all of those months ago when I gushed about how amazing Cala Ossidiana swimwear was? After 20 or so years wearing only 2 pieces I bought my first one piece from the brand, and I am a happy girl. Anne’s pieces are well-designed, sexy, and super comfortable. I wore my black knot maillot yesterday and couldn’t have been more happy. Never thought I’d post a photo of myself in a swimsuit on my blog. But here I am.
Love the suit, Anne!!! You’re genius!
Black knot maillot from Cala Ossidiana. I kept my hair off of my face with a turqoise headb and a simple knot. I love the idea of wearing jewelry on the beach but this is the Jersey Shore not Miami Beach, so I kept it simple with my vintage silver hoops.

Chicago Wedding Weekend
Chicago feels like home to me. Maybe because I lived there for 9 very formative years. The city is clean and beautiful, the people are friendly, and the food and the shopping are great. So, needless to say, when my step-brother decided to have his wedding there, I was super excited not only for the wedding and to see family, but to show my boyfriend around a little.
My father and step-mother surprised us by taking us directly from the airport to an amazing birthday dinner at one of the country’s best restaurant’s Rick Bayless’ Frontera Grill. Hands down, it was THE BEST Mexican food I’ve ever had, and that is saying a lot since Mexican food is one of my favorite cuisines. The weekend was also spent walking around Wicker Park and Bucktown with friends (two of my favorite neighborhoods in the city) and sailing on Lake Michigan.
Of course, the wedding took center stage. All of us girls (my sister, step-sister, step-mother, and myself) were excited to get dressed up and get our hair done for the big event. However, there very rarely is a big event without at least one fashion emergency. The night before the wedding my sister Brooke realized she’d forgotten her dress and unfortunately there wasn’t much time for her to buy another dress the next morning before we had to be at the ceremony. Luckily, we found a brown beaded lace skirt in our step-mother Cindy’s closet which I showed Brooke how to wear as a strapless dress. She eyed me up sceptically, but after I zipped and tied her in adding a skinny brown leather patent belt at her waist she was digging the look. Brooke’s brown leather heels worked perfectly and one of Cindy’s brown leather clutches completed the look. Total time= 10 minutes. What can I say? I’m a professional.
The wedding was an early afternoon ceremony in a cute little chapel followed by a casual outdoor reception at a tapas restaurant. I wore a Club Monaco bold floral printed dress with a pair of Yves Saint Laurent black leather strappy heels.
Delicate gold beaded hoops that I bought at Barney’s Co-op years ago were my only jewelry.
My marigold metallic J.Crew clutch brought out the oranges and yellows in the print of the dress.
And my fabulous Yves Saint Laurent heels. Classic and unique. I was in love at first sight.
My pretty little sister Brooke in the borrowed beaded lace skirt that we converted into a dress. Never would have known? Would you have?
Brooke chose simple silver hoops which worked perfectly with…
…the borrowed patent belt and bag.
Brooke’s own brown leather t-strap heels gave the look a vintage-y feel.
Newly weds Jen & Anthony.
Anthony and I ham it up for the camera.

What A Great Weekend!!! (Part 1)
I’ve been super busy lately, which makes the days I have off and the time I spend with friends that much better. This weekend we had the most perfect weather here in New York. After working with two amazing clients during the day, I jumped on a train to celebrate the 4th with friends at a house party up in Westchester. Fireworks, a little Michael Jackson dance party, and some delicious chocolate banana-pudding filled cupcakes make for a perfect early birthday treat. It was tons of fun.
Me posing with the grill, because we all know that I left the grilling to the experts. I was wearing a Marc Jacobs black silk slip dress layered over a Gap Body white tank with a Peter Som patent leather red belt. After being on my feet all day running around Soho it was nice to relax.
Lori Leven silver disk hoops that my boyfriend gave me for last year’s birthday.
My Peter Som red patent leather belt with a really cool silver frame buckle.
Black bangle from Forever 21.
My beloved Sigerson Morrison silver mirror leather sandals.
My friends Nicole and Whitney made chocolate banana-pudding filled cupcakes with vanilla frosting. Yummy.
***Music today: Michael Jackson “Thriller”.

Shelly took this photo of me in her front yard late in the day. I’m wearing a Complex Geometries top with a pair of Alexander Wang for Gap khakis.
My simple turquoise bead earrings.
My Dad and Step-Mom generously gave me this gorgeous antique triple stone raw ruby ring for my birthday two years ago.
My Ebay bangles that the kids were stealing off of my wrist all afternoon.
My Cynthia Vincent ankle wrap black leather sandals.
My funfetti cake with its’ make-shift crayon candle my lovely friend Shelly made for me.
